Jumuaah Mubarak‏

Ramazani huzur icerisinde geciriyorsunuzdur insaallah. Iste sonuna geldik bile, nasil gectigini anlamadan.

Peygamber efendimiz s.a.v. Ramazanin son on gunu girince ibadetlerini yogunlastirirdi.

Geceniz mubarek olsun.

The wisdom of teaching forgiveness
'Verily the Prophet (SAW) order people to seek forgiveness after endeavouring hard in worship during Lailatul Qadr and the last Ashara. This is becase the people of knowledge (Maarifa), despite endeavouring hard in actions, would never look at themselves or their deeds and words but would turn towards their Lord as sinners.' (Lataaif ul Muaarif).

Jumuaah Mubarak‏

'Oh my soul, thou hast only one life; no single moment that has passed can be recovered, for in the counsel of Allah the number of breaths allotted thee is fixed, and cannot be increased. When life is over no further spiritual traffic is possible for thee; therefore what thou dost, do now; treat this day as if thy life had been already spent, and this were an extra day granted thee by the special favour of the Almighty. What can be greater folly than to lose it?'
The Alchemy of Happiness, Imam Ghazali

Jumuaah Mubarak‏

Anas ibn Malik reported that the Prophet of Allah (SAW) said: "If the Judgement Day comes when one of you is holding a seedling in his hand, if you are able to plant it before the Day arrives, do so". (Bukhari, Ahmad).

Jumuaah Mubarak

Your Lord has not forsaken you; nor does he ever turn away from you. The life to come is far better for you than this present life; you will be delighted at what your Lord will give you. When you were an orphan, did he not enrich you?
Ad-Duha

A beautiful, succinct reminder of the perseverence our beloved Messenger of Allaah (SAW) that I came across recently:

What comes to a person in his or her life, however difficult it may be, perhaps will help a person move closer to God when the response is right: And it could be that you dislike something though it is good for you. And God knows, and you do not know(Quran, 2:216). Ibn 'Abbas (RA) said that if a person is tested with a tribulation, he will find a blessing, for the tribulation could have been worse; it was in worldy matters and not in spiritual ones and came in the finite world and not the infinite one. All these are reasons to thank God even for tribulations.

It is important to look at the life of the Prophet (SAW) and know that no once faced greater tribulation. The Prohpet (SAW) lived to see all of his children buried, except for Fatima. How many people experience this in their lifetime? Out of six children, he saw five of them perish. His father died before his birth. His mother died when he was just a boy. His guardian grandfather then died. When he recieved his calling, he saw his people turn against him with vehemence and brutality. People who had once honoured him, now slandered him, calling him a madman, liar and sorceror. The stalked him and threw stones at him until he bled. They boycotted him and composed stinging invectives against him. He lost his closest friend and relatives, like Hamza (RA) who was killed on the battlefield. His beloved wife, Khadija, after 25 years of blissful marriage, died during the Prophet's most difficult moment. Abu Talib, his protecting uncle, also died. The Prophet (SAW) was the target of 13 assassination attempts. How many people have faced all of that? Not once in a single hadith is there a complaint from him - except when beseeching his Lord.

Jumuaah Mubarak

"O you who believe! Seek help in patience and As-Salah (the prayer). Truly, Allah is with As-Sabirin (the patient" (Baqarah, 153)

The Virtue of Patience and Prayer
After Allah commanded that He be appreciated, He ordained patience and prayer. It is a fact that the servant is either enjoying a bounty the he should be thankful for, or suffering a calamity that he should meet with patience. A Hadith states:

"Amazing is the believer, for whater Allah decrees for him, it is better for him! If he is tested with a bounty, he is grateful for it and this is better for him; and if he is afflicted with a hardship, he is patient with it and this is better for him" (Muslim).

There are several types of Sabr - patience: one for avoiding the prohibitions and sins, one for acts of worship and obedience. the second type carries more rewards than the first type. There is a third type of patience required in the face of the afflictions and hardships, whic is mandatory, like repentance.

Abdur Rahman bin Zayd bin Aslam said, "Sabr has two parts: patience for the sake of Allah concerning what He is pleased with (i.e acts for worship and obedience), even if it is hard on the heartand the body, and patience when avoiding what He dislikes, even if it is desired. those who acquire these qualities will be among the patient persons whom Allah shall greet (when they meet Him in the Hereafter; refer to Surah Al Ahzab 33:44), Allah willing. (Ibn Abi Hatim)
(Tafsir Surah Baqarah - Ibn Kathir).

And then you will, that day, be questioned about felicity" (surah Takathur, ayah 8)
